    for in-store purchases


    Product availability

    Product availability in stores may differ from that shown on the SQDC website and may vary between SQDC points of sale.
    The SQDC assumes no liability in the event of inventory shortages.

    Price policy

    • The prices displayed on the SQDC.ca website are those established for consumer sales.
    • The product prices displayed on the SQDC.ca website may differ from those displayed in SQDC stores.
    • The applicable sales taxes are included in the displayed prices.
    • All prices are in Canadian dollars.
    • To cover unpredictable market fluctuations, the SQDC reserves the right to change, at any time and without prior notice, the prices of the products it sells.


    Legal purchase limit

    • In compliance with the act, the SQDC is required to limit to 30 grams the amount of cannabis that can be purchased at a time. This limit applies to purchases made in SQDC stores as well as on its website. For products sold in quantities other than grams (e.g. millilitres, gel caps), the 30-gram purchase limit is calculated at checkout based on the product’s equivalent grams. Purchases of more than 30 grams are not allowed.
    • Note that, in Québec, the maximum amount of cannabis an individual can have on his or her person in public places is limited to 30 grams.

    Purchases made at SQDC stores may be paid for with the following payment methods: cash, Interac debit card, prepaid credit card or MasterCard, Visa or American Express credit card.

    Age verification


    Proof of age required

    As cannabis is a product unlike any other, the SQDC must comply with the Cannabis Regulation Act and the Act to tighten the regulation of cannabis. These acts require that every effort be made to ensure that SQDC products are sold only to persons age 21 and over. All buyers of cannabis products at the SQDC must therefore be 21 years old or older and provide proof of age at the entrance to all SQDC stores.

    Act governing people under 21

    According to the the Act to tighten the regulation of cannabis, it is forbidden in Québec to sell cannabis to a person under 21 years of age. Under the Cannabis Regulation Act, it is forbidden for an adult to buy cannabis for a person under 21. The SQDC is therefore entitled to ask all buyers for an ID to make sure they are not under 21.

    Return and exchange policy for in-store purchases

    The SQDC does not refund purchases, regardless of the reason for returning the product. In addition, an invoice is required in order to exchange a product.

    If the product is defective, the SQDC will exchange any product sold in its stores for 14 days following purchase (certain conditions apply). Only products that are improperly dried, contain mould or exhibit a manufacturing defect are considered defective.

    To exchange a defective product:
    • The purchased product must be returned unopened and in its original container.
    • It will be exchanged for the same product.
    • If the same product is no longer available, an equivalent replacement product will be suggested.

    A product purchased at an SQDC store may be exchanged only in an SQDC store. On the other hand, a product purchased online on the SQDC.ca website may not be returned to an SQDC store. For details, please see the Return and Exchange Policy on SQDC.ca.
