Proof of age required
Access to the SQDC.ca website is strictly limited to persons age 21 and older. On entering the website, when creating a customer account and when placing an order, you are required to enter your date of birth to confirm that you are at least 21 years of age. When your order is delivered, the identity and age of the person who receives the parcel and signs the acknowledgement of receipt are once again checked.
Legal age to purchase
As cannabis is a product unlike any other, the SQDC must comply with the Cannabis Regulation Act and the Act to tighten the regulation of cannabis. The act requires that every effort be made to ensure that SQDC products are sold only to persons age 21 and over. To buy cannabis online on the SQDC website, you must accept the SQDC’s terms and conditions of sale. All buyers of cannabis products on SQDC.ca must therefore be 21 years old or older and provide proof of age when the merchandise is delivered. The following proofs of age are accepted by the SQDC: valid passport, valid driver’s licence and valid health insurance card. If the merchandise is received by a person other than the buyer, they must also prove they are age 21 or older. No delivery will be made to persons under 21, even if the products were paid for beforehand.
Act governing minors
Under the Cannabis Regulation Act and the Act to tighten the regulation of cannabis, it is forbidden in Québec to sell cannabis to a person under 21 years of age. It is forbidden for an adult to buy cannabis for a person under 21 years of age. The SQDC is therefore entitled to ask all buyers and all persons taking delivery of cannabis products for an ID to make sure they are not under 21 years of age.
Under certain conditions, in the event of a shipping error or defective product, SQDC.ca will exchange a product purchased online in the 14 days following the date of delivery. The SQDC does not issue refunds, irrespective of the reason for returning the product. If the returned product is no longer available, the SQDC will replace it with an equivalent product.
Products purchased on the SQDC.ca website may not be returned to an SQDC store. We encourage you to contact the customer relations team to discuss any issues related to the delivery of a product or to obtain the authorization necessary to return a product, if applicable.
Certain conditions and exclusions apply. Subject to change without prior notice. The SQDC reserves the right to decline exchanges in cases of abusive or inappropriate returns by a customer.
Would you like to know what happens if your SQDC.ca order is incomplete? If you were shipped the wrong product? If the delivered product is damaged? Please read the following answers and, for any other questions, please contact the customer relations team.
We take all necessary action to provide a quality delivery service. However, if you find that something is amiss upon receiving your parcel, please contact the Customer Relations Centre as soon as possible.
Please note that, to exchange a product that has been shipped to you by mistake, the product must be returned in its original, sealed and intact container.
The only defective products that the SQDC will exchange are products that are delivered in damaged packaging, that are improperly dried or that contain mould.
To exchange a defective or damaged product, you must first contact the Customer Relations Centre. No refunds are possible and you will have to provide proof of purchase and any evidence of product breakage.
In the rare cases where we are unable to complete delivery of a parcel due to an inconclusive customer age check, the SQDC will refund the entire amount of the order, except for the delivery fees.
No refund will be issued if the customer does not accept or pick up his or her parcel by the specified deadline.
The SQDC.ca website is operated by the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC). The terms and conditions of sale set forth above form a contract between the customer and the SQDC. These terms and conditions may be modified at any time by the SQDC.
